Revisitando un mapa del colonialismo español: claves históricas de 1975 saharaui

Esta reseña presenta la obra de Isaías Barreñada (2025), Sáhara Occidental 1975. El final del colonialismo franquista, como una aportación esencial para comprender el colonialismo español tardío y sus huellas en la memoria política de España, en un contexto historiográfico que ha desplazado el análisis desde la metrópoli hacia las periferias coloniales. Barreñada sostiene que el abandono del Sáhara en 1975 no fue una fatalidad geopolítica, sino una decisión política cargada de responsabilidad histórica, argumentando que España es un país posimperial que no ha digerido su memoria colonial, especialmente la de su dominio en África del Norte entre 1884 y 1976. La obra desmonta la narrativa oficial que presentaba el colonialismo español como "benigno" y excepcional, demostrando que reprodujo todos los rasgos estructurales del dominio colonial: violencia, explotación de recursos, discriminación, racismo y represión sistemática de las resistencias.Downloads
