Abstract

The objective of the article is to study some aspects of the world financial crisis, considered as part of a process that turned out to be favorable for the consolidation of the Anglo-Saxon banking hegemony, based on the expansion of the financing of social life. This was possible due to the decrease in the income of the waged workers, reflected in their low consumption. However, in order to increase their consumption, the credit and insolvency risk was increased because the loans did not have as a basis the consumers’ actual payment capacity.
