Estrategias de reproducción social en hogares periurbanos: un modelo para su análisis

Abstract

Based on a multiple case study, developed in three periurban locations in central Mexico, this paper aims to present the theoretical model that was used in the analysis of social reproduction strategies of periurban households. To this end, Pierre Bourdieu's theoretical approaches to the reproductive dynamics of the social world, as well as the central categories of field, habitus and capital, are recovered. The proposed model allows to explain the factors involved in the formation of reproductive strategies systems at the locality level, as well as the attachment or deviation of family practices to that system. Beyond its potential for the analysis of social reproduction in the periurban territory, it is considered that this model may be appropriate for the analysis of family strategies in contexts of profound structural changes.

Doctor en Ciencias con especialidad en Estrategias para el Desarrollo Agrícola Regional por el Colegio de Postgraduados. Miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, nivel I. Ha desarrollado estancias de investigación en el Instituto Gino Germani de la Universidad de Buenos Aires y en el Centro de Estudios del Desarrollo Económico y Social (CEDES) de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. Actualmente se encuentras adscrito como catedrático Conacyt al Centro de Estudios Demográficos, Urbanos y Ambientales de El Colegio de México. Entre sus principales líneas de investigación destacan: el desarrollo sustentable, las estrategias de reproducción social, y la configuración de los territorios rurales y periurbanos.
