The most expensive ombudsman system in the world… and the most inefficient?

The article continues with the analysis of the field of human rights defenders in Mexico, now raising the issue of the role of the ombudsman system regarding the assassinations of human rights defenders in Mexico. Five indicators are usedto measure the efficiency of the national human rights institutions: budget, independence, link between complaintsrecommendations- human rights violations, link between the recommendations made and the national and local social issues, and finally, the relation between the national human rights institutions and the NGO’s.Downloads
