The analysis of armed movements that took place in the 1970’s has been dominated by struturalist explanations, plagued by essentialism. That is to say, actors have been attributed with many different qualities. However, even though structural analysis has provided important elements to understand this phenomenon, it has also resulted in a static image. Because of this we have opted for a relational perspective in this article, in particular the concept of contentious politics, and the use of elements such as dynamism and continuity allow us to understand from another viewpoint the origin of and armed group in Guadalajara.Downloads
