E. P. Thompson and the unfinished revolution
Keywords:
Thompson, revolution, struggle, subject, knowledgeAbstract
This is an examination of some views by E. P. Thomson, which are central for understanding a revolution as something unfinished. The essay proposes to go beyond conventional interpretations in order to refute their limitations, suggesting also a more critical understanding on the shaping of submissive subjects. It also argues that E. P. Thompson developed a narrative on the revolution, which takes in consideration the attendant suffering and the subsequent knowledge generated in the struggle.Downloads
