Durante el periodo presidencial delgeneral Lázaro Cárdenas, la lucha porel sufragio femenino cobró una fuerza yactivismo inusitados. Las organizacionessociales, no sólo feministas, sino políticasy sindicales, enarbolaron banderas quedemandaban poner fin a la discriminacióny marginación que relegaba a las mujeresa un último plano en la escala social. Estademanda contó con la simpatía y apoyo detodos los sectores progresistas del país;el propio presidente Cárdenas generóen 1937 una iniciativa de ley a favor delsufragio femenino; no obstante, a puntode convertirse en ley se dio marcha atrásen esta reivindicación, que en el país y enel extranjero se daba como un logro.Downloads
