Abstract

Buenos Aires se ha desarrollado históricamenteexacerbando el carácter abierto desu trama urbana, donde la calle, la esquinao la plaza eran instrumentos cívicos decohesión social, de fortalecimiento delas relaciones de vecindad. Sin embargo,en las últimas décadas ha sido testigo deun proceso de ruptura de los patronestradicionales de crecimiento a partir delsurgimiento de enclaves fortificados, los“parques cerrados”, que encapsulan actividades,fragmentan territorios, segreganpoblación. En este marco comenzó adesarrollarse una experiencia singular, el“parque social”, que se presenta comoinstrumento de contención e integraciónde aquellas comunidades locales excluidasque buscan afrontar la crítica situacióndominante.
