Abstract

El presente texto, desde la perspectivade las relaciones de poder y el desarrollosustentable, aborda la problemática delabastecimiento de agua en Ocotlán, comoconsecuencia de las políticas públicas dedesarrollo regional implementadas en elpaís en los años cincuenta del siglo pasado.A partir de entonces, cambió la actividadeconómica de la ciudad y hubo un crecimientourbano-industrial, y por lo tantotambién aumentó la demanda de agua. Sinembargo, se le dio prioridad a la dotacióndel recurso hídrico al sector industrial porencima del sector doméstico.
